Proofreading
Proofreading involves examining text for errors in spelling, grammar and punctuation. Writing will be checked for consistency throughout the work, typos will be eliminated and alternatives to unclear wording will be suggested. Inconsistencies regarding fonts, layout and paragraphs will be corrected.
Copy Editing
Copy editing is more than simply correcting errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, style and usage. It goes a step beyond proofreading and checks for readability, clarity and consistency. Suggestions on developing content and improving structure will be made, and sentences will be rebuilt to eliminate awkward wording and improve coherence and flow of writing.

Testimonials
“Sarah Roach has edited three separate projects for me over the past few years and has done a superb job. Her skill, her helpful ideas and suggestions, her attention to detail and her ability to work within deadlines have been both refreshing and painless. Sarah produces high-quality editing work while being genuinely interested in the success of the project as well. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.”
“Sarah Roach has been an overwhelming blessing to Jonathan and me and the Cageless Birds Community. She has carefully edited the content of all five volumes of our Cultivate books, preserving the voice of each writer while still pressing us into excellence. Having over twenty different writers is not easy, and we have been amazed at how she has honored the vision of each heart. Our publications would not be what they are without her.”

About Sarah
After her first college grammar class, Sarah caught herself diagramming sentences for fun. Realizing this was not normal behavior, she decided that majoring in English was the right choice. She began working in the Writing Center at Meredith College as a tutor, assisting other students in proofreading and editing essays and formal papers. She graduated magna cum laude, receiving a BA in English and a teaching license. After teaching English for several years to high school students, she began the beautiful journey of motherhood. After having children, she has edited for publication companies and has worked as a freelance proofreader and copy editor. She has edited books, brochures, essays, children's literature, web material, and her husband's post-it notes left scattered throughout the house.
“After working with Sarah on numerous projects, her skill and diligence, as well as her delightful personality, have been a breath of fresh air.”
